January 20th, 2015 Rocket launch from Cape Canaveral

We walked down to the beach to watch the rocket launch at 7:30.I tried to take pictures but they didn't turn out too well. It was very cool to watch though. And when it was just a tiny dot in the sky, you could finally hear the rumble~

Canova Dog Park and Beach~

We were moved to a new spot on Friday morning. This site is open for as long as we want to stay,so we decided to stay 2 weeks. It's a really nice little site in back of the Key West Bar, so on Friday and Saturday night we get live music~ It is so great here, walking distance to so many shops and restaurants. It's perfect. And, we also got to bring the Green Egg to our site, so Jack's been cooking on it. He made steaks, steak fajitas and Mexican meatloaf. We are planning to make pulled pork for the friends we've made at the campground~

So, we spent the morning on the beach with Teddy He loved it, not crazy about the waves crashing, but loved all the dogs~ It is very funny how everyone wants to connect their dog with other dogs, like a social event. We were surprised that the labs were going in to retrieve toys into the big waves.... I guess labs love water no matter what~ Such a variety of dogs, it was interesting~ It's something we'll be doing again soon.

Memories~ After 52 years, My trip to Ocean View Rv Park

It is so wonderful to be here again. I loved living in this motorhome park when I was 9. Loved walking across the then 2 lane highway, now 4 lanes,  to the beach, collecting shells and splashing in the water. It is still as private and wonderful as it was then. And, this park is so much the same, only now surrounded by Walmart, Mcdonald's, high rise hotels and yet here it is unchanged. In fact the actual motor home that I lived in was here until just a few months ago. The son of the original owners of the park, the Terrico family, still runs the park and I was so amazed he remembered our family. It was wonderful reminiscing about the old days here, in fact he even gave me some pictures he had from back then~ This was definitely something on my bucket list, I am so happy I got to make this trip. I remember how sad I was when we had to move back to Wisconsin after the wonderful year here. We will be here for a week.

Tomorrow, we will take Teddy to the dog beach~ pictures to follow~

Here it is " My Beach "

How fitting in the parking lot at the Canova Dog Park , there is a Nathan's Hot Dog wagon... and of course dogs eat free ( treats in a jar for man's best friend )

January14th, 2015~ Ocala North RV Court in Reddick, Florida

After a 3 1/2 hour drive we stayed at another great park that we found through Passport America for half price ( $20 ) We were hoping for some sunshine but settled for a nice 70 degrees. immediately got out the lounge chairs and had some peach wine from a Georgia winery to celebrate making it to Florida.......in my flip flops :)

This park is really nice, beautiful landscaping, large trees and a lot of spanish moss. The staff was very friendly , too. So far we are loving Passport America~

Here is the beautiful heated pool~ We were the only ones swimming in it, everyone here was dressed for winter and could not believe we were going in. But, it was 70 degrees that was plenty warm for us. It felt great~

The park is so pretty, it was wonderful to see plants and flowers and that spanish moss I love it~

Always amazes me when I see plants that I've never seen before like this one~

And then there is that beautiful spanish moss~

I am always looking for seeds or leaves to propagate plants, I can't stop myself.....and neither can Jack,... here I am at it again~

I am really excited about tomorrow, we are driving down Hwy A1A to Indian Harbor Beach to stay a week at Ocean View Rv Park, where I lived for one year when I was 9 years old. The park is just 300 feet from the beautiful private beach~ this is a big one on my bucket list. I have wonderful memories of that place and I'm so excited to share it with Jack~

January 11th , 2015....our trip to Florida~

So, this was our first trip with Chiku, we didn't know what to expect having never been out of our house in his entire life with us. But, he was great. I think he may have actually enjoyed the motion. A few times there was a little talking and whistling too. He enjoyed a french fry from our stop at Mc Donalds as did Teddy.

After 7 hours we stopped for the night at Diamond Caverns RV Court in Park City, Kentucky. It seems like a great park. We couldn't connect the water because of the cold weather. But , we do have electric and 2 TV channels. After the long drive that is all we needed. We watched TV until 7:00, when we were tired enough to go to sleep.

The park has a pool, not open now but, it loooks really nice. And the bathrooms and showers are nice and clean.

Didn't take any pictures, just there for the night and it was cold and rainy .

So, now we are heading to Georgia, hoping it will be warmer there and not raining~

Grand Valley Campground October 17-19th, 2014

Our friends Bill and Cindy Stumpfy have a seasonal spot here and told us about how they love it there. So, we decided to visit them for the weekend. And they were right, it is a wonderful campground right in the middle of Amish country. We met their friends and joined in at their weekly" Saturday night AA meeting" in which you need to bring your own shot glass for sampling everyone's favorite beverages, We enjoyed ourselves tremendously, lots of laughs. The campground is one of the cleanest I have ever seen.Bill and Cindy showed us all the best Amish shops around, including the bent and dent stores~

Beautiful trees and the swimming hole~
